Adult Oil and Acrylic Painting for intermediate and advanced painters.

Emphasis will be on color which is expressive and energetic.  Each class will start with a short lesson. We will keep an eye on the important aspects of design and composition.  Bring your photos, or work from your own still life setup.  Students may also paint en plein aire on the beautiful grounds of the Pennypacker Mills Estate. Students are supported in their personal styles - realistic or abstract.  Be engaged with one-on-one critique and a fun atmosphere.

Students will supply their own easel and usual painting supplies. Bring your photos and imagination.  This is not a beginner class.

Class taught by Aina Roman, a PVAC member and art teacher. Visit her website http://ainaroman.com

    There are 4 weeks. Wednesdays - 9:30am-12:30pm  April 17th to May 8th.

LAST MINUTE CHANGE! NO ARTWORK PICK UP this Saturday.

    NEW TIME: Saturday, May 4, 2024 - 11am - 2pm

    Hello All:

Mennonite Heritage Center has notified us that they will be closed this weekend as they are having their driveway paved.

We have to move the time to pick up your artwork from the recent member show. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you absolutely cannot make it at that time, please phone a PVAC friend to pick your work up for you. If that does not pan out, please Call Lori Quinque Quinn @ (215) 264-7282 - to discuss your options.

We would appreciate anyone able to help break down the show so please stay to help once you have picked up your artwork.

We do not have to take down any panels this year due to our friend, Bud Slemmer using them for an upcoming quilt show at MHEP. Here is the information on that event.

Thank you! Your participation is appreciated.

    PVAC team!

    Hey Friends!

The May board meeting has been moved  to Tuesday and changed the format to a lunch get together!  This is an invitation for you as a member to join us at Seasons Cafe, at Peter Becker Community for this Board & Bites Session. There are lots of lunch choices available at good prices - a salad bar, homemade soups, sandwiches etc. (No purchase is necessary.)

Your presence and input are what make these meetings important!

We're all in this together, and that means your voice matters. Whether you've got a bold idea, a burning question, or just want to share your two cents, we want to hear it. Seriously, your insights could be the spark that ignites our next big move.

This meeting isn't just about reports and numbers – it's about us, as a team, shaping the future of our organization. Let's brainstorm, challenge each other (nicely, of course), and dream big.

Can't wait to see you all there. Bring your suggestions.

We are reserving a table, so PLEASE REGISTER so that our hosts can accommodate us.

All registered guests will receive an agenda via e-mail.

Dean F. Thomas is a Buck's County painter and printmaker specializing in hand-painted drypoint engravings, color woodcut and oil paintings. "My strong and deeply rooted connection the natural world is what drives me to paint.  It is my sincere desire that my love for the outdoors through my paintings will have a profound affect on others, keeping then connected to the natural world as well"  You can read more about Dean on his website deanfthomas.com

Dean will discuss the creation of a color woodcut print, starting with the original design, separating the colors of the design for each individual woodblock, carving the blocks and then presenting the order in which each block is printed.
